central theme
via unadorned lucidity
neatly slanting cursive
being wiped clean
by hot streaks
overshadowed
by climate apathy
planting seeds
in straight rows
hoping they’ll grow
opposed by early warnings
of, “Reaping what we sow”
echoing dire slogans of old
falling on fallow ground
performing frantic narratives
during manic rain dances on arid land ...
