Suddenly swarming
telling stories
of switching loyalties
in a trade war as a long-
standing cautionary calling
into a hamlet
of fruit and nut orchards
filled with categories
of widows and orphans
all self-taught
and turning tawny
like primordial catchalls
for storing
ears that look like horns
along waterfront troughs
legs crossed
balancing formidable
red balls in between all wars
as forever installments
morphing
into an ephemeral well off
like a transitory tall-tall order ...
