having moved past Nursery Rhymes
while still drifting on a bygone cloud nine
post launch time still gaining admirers
by re-writing subtitles within the airless confines
of disguised outsiders believing in divine kindness
offering congratulatory outsized strained smiles
beneath overcast night skies flickering on the dark side
of sleepers that never dream while seeking
healing quack remedies of wearing their weakened
hearts on their sleeves as weathered and gnarly
as the thickening trunks of ancient trees ...
