of black clouds
clashing in the air
and on the ground
roundly denounced
and unraveling
ousted in the wake of scandal
risking luxury brands
figures dancing up stairwells
treating anxiety and panic
relating to the Latin for, “shadow”
commanding, “Here’s a mask - wear it!”
