attempting to countermand
confounding high-cost housing
unrivaled in scope and scale
moving at faster clips than in the past
working classes seeking damages
along comeback paths struggling families
belting out brassy ballads
killer whales shiny kitchen wraps
shouting, “Shoo kitty” at swamp plants
honoring home run champs
swingin’ ‘neath circling spacecrafts
pinging above Alaska
emitting abstract visual languages
aching sadness looking ragged
holed up in homeless camps
leaving slime trails
retracting into spiral mantles ...
